The Graduate Program in Electrical Engineering (PPGEELT) at the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU) conducts two admission processes per year for its Master’s and Doctoral programs, in accordance with specific public calls and applicable regulations.
Prospective candidates must hold a higher education degree and should carefully follow the schedule outlined in each announcement. The entire application process is digital and must be completed via email at copel@ufu.br.
All information regarding application openings and selection procedures is published on the PPGEELT website at www.ppgeelt.feelt.ufu.br, under the “Admissions” section.
Positions are available to graduates of full-length undergraduate programs (long-cycle degrees) recognized by the Brazilian Ministry of Education (MEC). Openings are offered according to the area of concentration, subareas, and research lines of PPGEELT.
Graduates from related fields recognized by MEC may also apply, considering the interdisciplinary nature of the program, provided that the field falls within the same CAPES major area. In such cases, the applicant must include a written justification, which will be evaluated by the admissions committee. Supporting documentation may be requested to substantiate the justification.
Applications from graduates of short-term, sequential, or equivalent programs will not be accepted. Only applicants holding higher education technology degrees (tecnólogos) at the undergraduate level will be considered.

Admitted students must present proof of foreign language proficiency by the following deadlines:
- Master’s program: within 18 months after enrollment, or before the qualifying examination, whichever comes first.

Note: For the Master’s degree, proficiency in one foreign language (English) is required. For the Doctorate, proficiency in two foreign languages is required: English and another language of the candidate’s choice.
Non-Portuguese-speaking international applicants must also provide proof of Portuguese language proficiency, such as:
- CELPE-Bras (Certificate of Proficiency in Portuguese for Foreigners) — minimum level: Intermediate (link); or

Accepted official language exams include:

Minimum required scores:
