In the academic master’s program, a dissertation based on a research project is developed by the student within one of the research lines and research groups of PPGEELT, under the supervision of one of the accredited faculty members.

The Master’s course has a minimum duration of 12 months and a maximum duration of 24 months. The curriculum comprises a total of 42 credits, distributed as follows:

  • 27 credits in required courses (Master’s Dissertation and Research Methodology and Scientific Writing);
  • 15 credits in elective courses (other subjects).

The Teaching Internship at UFU is governed by CONPEP Resolution No. 11/2011, which, in accordance with CAPES Ordinance No. 76 of April 14, 2010, establishes that CAPES scholarship holders must complete a teaching internship in undergraduate education—two semesters for doctoral students and one semester for master’s students. The internship requirement applies only to the doctoral level in programs offering both master’s and doctoral degrees. It is important to note that this requirement also extends to FAPEMIG scholarship holders.

Foreign Language Proficiency is mandatory prior to the dissertation defense.
